The Sparta Massage Ritual by Cinq Mondes, is inspired by Ancient Greek practices born in Ancient Sparta for the preparation and the recovery of athletes and warriors to intense physical effort.

A complete sport body massage treatment, muscle-relaxing and deeply relaxing, combining various techniques like smoothing, stretching, kneading and twisting movements with targeted pressure offering many beneficial effects. Like in the writings of Hippocrates, the treatment ends with a blissful massage of the head and shoulders, the “remedy to all worries”.

This holistic experience, available as a 50-minute or an 80-minute treatment, has been developed with the assistance of Laurence Reis, a sports osteopath, sports physiotherapist and trainer in health and sport promotion.

Combining massage and skincare products derived from Ancient Greek traditional medicine, this treatment offers intense relaxation for the mind, stimulates blood flow and lymphatic drainage, improves joint suppleness and oxygenates the muscles.

In the 80min version, after the towel massage, Pomegranate Earth is applied all over the back, and invigorating rubbing movements stimulate the entire spine. An olive wood strigil is then used to remove this powder.

During this 80-minute treatment, the varied movements are continuously repeated for intensified joint and muscle relaxation.

The Aromatic Oil-In-Gel, the star product of the ritual, is truly a relaxing treatment, aimed at accompanying the Sparta massage.

With its Mediterranean plant-based ingredients Ben, Myrtle & Iris, it helps release tension and gently soothe the body while the fig boosts the skin’s hydration and Vanillyl, provides a sensation of warmth. Starting as a gel, the texture becomes an oil when being applied and leaves the skin silky smooth and radiant.

Its signature scent, created by Serge De Oliveira, invites us into the heart of the city of Sparta, with its notes of cedar, lavandin and peppermint.
